# SHADOW — A Procedural Nightmare
Descend into the depths of a randomly generated underground complex where each floor is darker, more twisted, and more dangerous than the last. SHADOW blends two distinct gameplay modes: first-person maze exploration and FNAF-inspired camera surveillance.
## Maze Exploration
Move node by node through narrow corridors rendered in 3D via raycasting. Find the keys scattered throughout the maze to unlock the exit door and advance to the next floor. Your flashlight is your only weapon: a right-click repels the shadows chasing you, but charges are limited. The battery also powers your surveillance card—when it runs out, you're plunged into total darkness.
## Surveillance Mode
Sit in an office and monitor the cameras scattered throughout the facility. Hostile entities move from room to room, trying to reach your location. Close side doors to block their approach and use lights to check adjacent corridors. Each action drains your battery. Survive until 6:00 AM to advance to the next night.
## Four Entities with Unique Behaviors
- **The Spectre**: Moves silently through the maze, following the shortest path to you. Fast and unpredictable.
- **The Revenant**: Patrols the corridors according to its own pattern. It changes targets when it detects you and attempts to flank you.
- **The Guardian**: Turns off the lights in its wake. Stay in the dark too long and it will grab you without warning.
- **The Stalker**: Waits patiently at the office doors during surveillance mode. If you don't block it in time, it recharges.
## Three Game Modes
- **Campaign**: Alternates between maze floors and nights of surveillance. The complete experience with progressively increasing difficulty.
- **Milk**: Exploration only. Find the keys, avoid the entities, escape floor by floor.
- **Surveillance**: Nights of surveillance only. Manage your resources and doors to survive until dawn.
## Three Difficulty Levels
- **Easy**: You get 3 lives, entities are slower, and the battery lasts longer.
- **Normal**: No extra lives. A single contact with an entity means death. A balanced pace.
- **Hard**: Faster and more aggressive entities, faster battery drain, larger mazes.
